Diary Of Daniella Rolfe by Dawne` Dominique *e-book* (Released)Open in a new window

Daniella Rolfe was the last of The First vampires, although there were many of her kin still left roaming the world feeding on humans to stay alive. When Daniella's penthouse is burglarized and officer Aiden Blackmore is assigned to the case, Daniella fears she may not be able to keep from breaking the vow she promised herself centuries ago. From the moment she looks into his hypnotic green eyes she knew he could be her downfall.

Aiden was on assignment as Daniella's bodyguard until the murders in the city either came to an end or the murderer was found. He thought it strange the initials in each male victims back were the same as hers, but even more frightening was seeing his name scrawled across the chest of the latest victim, Daniella's latest lover.

Daniella and Aiden both dream erotically of one another, although the dreams seem too real. Want and need burn like fire between the two, but Daniella knows not to mess with a man of authority and Aiden only knows that he must possess her. Love silently builds quickly, but with the slash of a knife it can be taken away just as fast.

Daniella vowed to never make another of her kind, but when Aiden came into her life he seemed to shatter all the guards she had constructed around her heart. One by one the shards begin fall, and blood will be spilled. Will Daniella follow her heart, or will she let the only love she'd ever known slip away?

Dawne` Dominique is captivating, her writing style is truly unique. I felt the characters were strong and sophisticated by the use of words penned by Ms. Dominique. A tale of Romance and the vividly erotic scenes painted in this novella made the story come to life. I was entranced while reading the Diary of Daniella Rolfe, and I can assure you this read will not disappoint. 5 Hearts

Ashern Ridley, only heir to the Ridley Ranch, is a child of privilege. His lack of compassion and inability to empathize caused a rocky relationship with his father that was fraught with misunderstandings. Now he’s come home with visions of breeding racehorses from mustangs, only to find that the ranch he is inheriting is a hair’s breadth from going under. To top it off, his father has put a provision in the will that delays his inheritance in the first place, and the tenants on the corner of the ranch are to remain there, rent-free as always. For the playboy son of the staid rancher, this seems to be the last straw. Little does he know what fate, and perhaps the spirit of his father, have in store for him.

Strong, independent Madison Maddox has progressed from being a veterinarian to producing her own line of skin treatments for the ranchers of the area and their wives. She’s happy being alone on the parcel of land given to her and her family by Garland Ridley for “as long as there’s a Maddox to live there”. Alone is better than being hurt, to her way of thinking, but she soon learns that solitude is not all that she hoped.

When Ash returns from school to take over his inheritance, the ranch, he is furious at his father’s proviso that he runs the ranch successfully for a year. When the old foreman, Dale, tells him the rest, he is shocked to his core. Garland Ridley died broke, and no lender around there will help. All is not lost, though, if Ash will ask the last surviving Maddox for a loan. Ash and Madison enter a deal, on her terms, that will save the ranch, but the cost seems great to Ash. Neither can deny the physical attraction between them, though, and despite the best efforts of Amber, the maid who wants Ash for herself, the sparks flying between them start to ignite some well-preserved tinder.

Ridley’s Rival is hot on every level. Dawne Dominique adds just the perfect amount of mystery which created a wonderful element to the story line and the love scenes is full of emotion, not just action. I was unable to put Ridleys Rival down. The language is appropriate to the characters, and the dialogue cuts a clear picture of each, right down to the scheming maid, Amber. No character is extraneous to the story, no detail unneeded for the telling. I’d recommend it to any fan of literary erotica.
